What is GAT General?

 GAT-GENERAL is the Graduate Assessment Test for admission to MS and M.Phil. programmed. For admissions purposes, the exam score will be valid for "TWO YEARS." Candidates may take the test if they have completed at least sixteen years of education
The GAT General exam is given by NTS for admission to all MS / M Phil programmed at all universities, colleges, and research institutes in Pakistan. Prior to applying for admission to the institution for M. Phi. or MS programmed, it is required of all applicants to pass the GAT. For the GAT, a score of 50 is the cutoff.
More than 1000 people register for each batch and take the test. Not more than 4 to 5 percent of students pass the exam. The GRE, GMAT, and SAT have higher pass rates than these standardized tests. The GAT is a simple test, which accounts for its high success rate.

Section of GAT General:

Three sections make up the GAT General Test: 
  1. Verbal
  2.  Analytical
  3. Quantitative.
Verbal :
The GAT verbal component evaluates your vocabulary, grammar, critical reading, and reading comprehension abilities. All of the multiple-choice questions on the GAT verbal portion are a mix of the following 2 question types: Antonyms and Synonyms (tests your vocabulary)

Analytical

The analytical reasoning question types in the analytical ability portion test a student's capacity to ascertain the right response in light of some facts and regulations. Each group of questions is based on a different passage, and they are presented in groups. Additionally, they assess a variety of abilities like conditional thinking and detecting potential truths based on rules.

The short arguments used in GAT logical reasoning problems. There are then a series of questions that follow each argument. Your abilities to draw deductions, draw conclusions, and use analogies are put to the test.

Quantitative:

The quantitative section evaluates your ability to interpret data and use deductive reasoning to reach valid conclusions. The portion uses the same mathematics curriculum as is taught in high school and secondary education.

The Quantitative Section has a total of 30 questions that need to be answered in 30 minutes. This gives you a minute per question on average. If you comprehend the questions and base your answers on solid knowledge, you should be able to finish each within a minute.

Admission requirements:

  • Candidates may take the test if they have completed at least sixteen years of education.

How many times a candidate can apply for GAT General Test:

Test syllabus: 

The general test only contains multiple-choice questions (MCQ). The components of the GAT include problem-solving, quantitative comparison, reading comprehension, analogies, antonyms, logical reasoning, and analytical reasoning. The GAT format is a lengthy format with eight components.
